Meet Kelley

I feel incredibly fortunate to have earned a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Nazareth College and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Syracuse University. Additionally, I hold a professional teaching certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities in the state of New York. I am nationally certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, with my Certificate of Clinical Competence as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Moreover, I have a Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership from Le Moyne College.

About KB Educational Consulting

Throughout my career in education, my journey has taken me on a unique and diverse path. I've worked as a speech-language pathologist, collaborated with integrated special education teams, trained teachers, offered consulting services, and developed professional development and organizational change programs. I have also served as a district-wide coordinator, focusing on designing and implementing social and emotional learning programming.

Given my passion for empowering educators in various domains, I was thrilled to embark on my current chapter as an independent educational consultant and professional learning facilitator, proudly establishing KB Educational Consulting in 2020. Thank you for being on this journey with me!

    KB Educational Consulting is not just about creating equitable learning environments for students, but also for educators, staff, and their communities, too. Every professional deserves high-quality, fairly priced, creative solutions to professional learning that aren't linked solely to singular staff development days each year, or that require you to take a vacation day to do it. We will work together to create learning opportunities that match your unique needs. Students are not one-size-fits-all. Neither are educators or schools.

  • My goal is to work myself out of a job.

    The work I do is centered around building your capacity, and providing adequate space and time for you to grow and learn at a pace that makes sense for you, your staff, your building, or your district. I want you to walk away feeling confident and capable. If you no longer need me, then I've done what I'm supposed to do.

  • Professional learning should be generous.

    Following training and/or coaching, you will always, and I mean always receive access to electronic copies of slide decks, handouts, resources, and whatever else you need to meet your needs and the needs of your students and staff. I will always answer an email seeking support or looking for answers. And I will always work with you to provide solutions that make sense for you.

  • Professional learning spaces should feel safe AND fun.

    We should always be in search of continuous improvement - no one is perfect, and that's never expected. Professional learning and coaching with me will always be provided with respect. You will always be simultaneously challenged and validated. My professional learning experiences are designed to give you the opportunity to feel brave enough to take on new learning and strategies and to know that your prior experiences and knowledge are valued. We'll also plan to have a whole lot of fun along the way, because if it isn't fun, why do it? I love what I do! I want you to feel that love, too.

  • "We don't have to get it together before we show up."

    This quote by Anne Lamott, for me, represents the idea that perfection isn't necessary before we begin implementing new learning and new strategies. If we wait for perfection, we'll never start! We will work together to set small, reasonable goals within an action plan that will allow you to sustainably and meaningfully work toward your big-picture goal while also preventing burnout or initiative fatigue.
